Change has been in the air in 2018 at Golden Considerations Inc., the nation’s premiere funeral insurance and trust organization. Senior Vice President Chad Adams recently stepped into the role of president and will guide the company going forward.
Robert S. Rae, the founder and long-time leader of Golden Considerations, oversaw dramatic growth over the last couple of decades and will remain CEO. Commenting on the transition, Rae stated, “Chad and I have worked side by side for over twenty years, and while we share many of the same thoughts and visions for the company, I’m confident and excited about the fresh ideas he will bring to the table in this new role. I’m not going anywhere, just taking a step back to allow time for personal endeavors and focus on other opportunities for the company.”
Rae continued, “Chad has been involved in the death care industry for more than 25 years. Twenty years ago, Chad started with Golden Considerations as a District Manager, worked his way to Vice President and then was promoted to Senior Vice President. Throughout his tenure the company has experienced tremendous growth as Golden Considerations introduced funeral professionals to a new way of doing business that provided firms with the innovative model of offering a myriad of products through multiple companies under one umbrella. Clients receive one commission statement, one 1099, one customer service number to call and one reporting system instead of the one-size-fits all concept that had been promoted for years. Our consultative approach in identifying the needs of our clients then utilizing our Advantage Options, including universal casket price-freeze, short fall accounts and marketing initiatives, was also a game changer.”
Adams was also instrumental in helping the business grow from a $10,000,000 to $130,000,000 company.
“But, more importantly,” said Adams, “My desire to build long-term, symbiotic relationships has been important to that growth and has truly made a difference to the businesses of our partners.”
With a strong background in sales and marketing and an avid devotion to modern promotion and ways of doing business, Adams’s background makes him well suited to lead Golden Considerations which is known for diligent customer service and industry expertise.
“I am a relationship guy like many people in our industry, but more and more firms are making a business decision about the people with whom they wish to work. My passion is working with our funeral home partners to help them grow their market share,” Adams noted.
Tech-savvy and willing to fully embrace social media and other aspects of modern marketing, Adams understands the need to use these tools effectively to move Golden Considerations forward to continue to be an industry leader.
“Marketing concerns within the funeral industry have changed dramatically in just the last two years alone,” Adams shared. “Five years ago, the necessity of social media wasn’t even considered relevant for most funeral providers. Today, however, it is a critical avenue to keep any business in front of and engaged in their community.”
Adams is looking forward to the opportunity to build on the strong foundation Golden Considerations has built over the last 25 years.
“With our strong history of client-focused service and established standards of excellence, I believe we can take our work to an even higher level, helping the funeral homes we work with set themselves apart from their competition,” he said.
In addition to his plans to continue ramping up modern marketing support for funeral home partners and overseeing day-to-day operations, Adams hopes to expand Golden Consideration’s exclusive network of funeral homes, financial advisors, and elder law attorneys who in turn service tens of thousands of families annually. Adams also plans to be highly visible and available within the industry’s state associations as well as within groups including the National Funeral Directors Association and the Cremation Association of North America.
